1) Re-installation:

This is the basic step to troubleshoot any problem related to applications installed on the system. Even with the knowledge of programming or Windows or any thing, the most preferred and optimistic step is to reinstall the application in a hope that it may work correctly upon re-installation. I suggest this as the primary step in fixing Far Cry 5 Snowshoe error.

2) Connectivity:

The Far Cry 5 Snowshoe Error may be faced because of bad or weak network or interrupted connectivity. To resolve the connectivity issue, here are some steps that you can try:

The first and foremost step is to turn off your router. Wait for 15 seconds and then restart it.

Wired Connection:

If you are using wireless network from the router, i would recommend you to use a wired network, just for THIS game. Even a simple delay in data packet may cause this error.

If you are using a dongle connectivity for data, make sure you are playing the game at the location where the signals are maximum.

DNS cache:

Try flushing the DNS to clear your System’s DNS cache. To do this, follow the steps as given below:

  • Press “Widows+R” key to open the “Run” Window.

  • Hit “Enter” to execute the command.
  • It will show the latency of the servers.

Try closing the processes “Steam” or “UPlay” completely and restart them.

3) Security Programs:

Do you have a security program installed on your system. These days, the antiviruses are being developed to handle the protection rigorously. They may cause interruption for the program running on the system to communicate to the target server through the firewall. So, you need to change some settings in the antivirus in order to fix the Far Cry 5 Snowshoe Error.

You may try adding Far Cry 5 as well as clients like Steam and UPlay as an exception to Firewall rules. The setting to do that can be found in “Program rules” in Options (This is for Norton antivirus). The process would be similar for other security programs.

You can simply disable the security program for the period you are into the game, if the security program allows you to do so.

4) Clients’ Updation:

No matter whether you are playing Far Cry 5 on any of the client viz. “Steam” or “Uplay”. Both are required to be updated with the latest updates.

This is the most heart breaking step if you have progressed too further in the game. However, make sure to make a back up of the save game files before deleting them completely.

The location of save game files for Far Cry 5 is something similar as mentioned below:

  • Change the directory to the one you like your save games to be saved.
  • Save the file and close the notepad.
